After working for 35 years as a scientist, I decided to share my knowlege of biology and science with students. So, I became a teacher. As a scientist I did fieldwork for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), spliced genes while at the Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia, conducted research on pig diseases at the School of Veterinary Medicine, and trekked through the Okeefenokee Swamp while working on a project for the Institute of Ecology. However, my real passion is studying butterflies. I have traveled to the remote islands of the Carribean as well as to the jungles of South America to study them. At home, here in Athens, I have a laboratory and several greenhouses where I still study butterflies. At Classic City PLC I teach Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Entomology, and Environmental Science.
